about us

God’s first instruction to humanity was to “be fruitful and multiply”. Within this DTS we will explore God’s intent for communities with a focus on permaculture (sustainable development) and maternal health.

Before being sent out into the nations to fulfill God’s instructions, we must first understand His true character and nature. Every week will be filled with teaching on a different biblical topic as well as training in either sustainability or maternal health with the aim of serving disadvantaged communities across the globe. Our hope is that through this DTS, students will come out with a holistic, biblical perspective on who God is and walk with a passion to share Christ with others in both word and deed.

Our Focus

All students will choose one of our two different tracks offered in this course:

Midwifery

The definition of a midwife is “with woman”. In this track that can directly feed into the GoMidwife program, students will learn how to give Gospel-based maternal care through all stages of life, starting with the most sacred time for a woman: birth.

Permaculture (Sustainable Development)

Food, water, shelter, and energy are key components of any community. In the sustainable living track we explore God’s heart for communities and how we can impact lives through the intentional use of natural, local, and sustainable methods.

After about 3 months in Kona, we’ll depart in teams all over the globe for outreach. Our outreach teams, consisting of people from both tracks, will be trained to complete a project (or projects) in relation to maternal/child health or permaculture specific to their location. Opportunities to meet the needs of families in Nepal, Central Asia, Malawi, and elsewhere will be explored and you, as disciples of Christ, will be the hands and feet of Jesus bringing the Gospel while enriching the lives of those you meet.
