We hope to make your application for Discipleship Training School (YWAM-DTS) as simple as possible. Here is a short list of application guidelines:Form - All parts of the application must be completed for acceptance
Application fee - Applications must include a nonrefundable fee of U.S. $70 per single or U.S. $100 per couple. Payment may be made online (using a credit card) or by mail using a money order or check. Pay fees online
Health Form - The State of Hawaii requires all students to be tested for tuberculosis (TB) and to submit evidence of a negative test during application. Testing must be done within one year of your enrollment.
Health Insurance - U of N requires all students to have coverage for themselves and all family members who accompany them, for both the lecture and outreach phases of DTS. Proof of insurance is required on Registration Day.
Reference Forms - We require completed forms from a pastor, a teacher/employer and a friend. All three must be received by our Admissions Office before your application can be processed. These forms are available online or by mail.
English Proficiency Information - All students whose native language is NOT English must submit either their TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or the Report on Proficiency in English with the Information on English Language Ability. The TOEFL is administered worldwide. Their web site is www.toefl.org. The U of N Kona, HI School Code is 0474.
Visas - Only two types of visa are available to students attending U of N, Kona, as mandated by the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Service.
The B-1 Visa is for those taking DTS Missionary Training (3 months) and serving as a Volunteer in Service to YWAM (2 months outreach field assignment).
The F-1 Visa is for those wishing to attend U of N, Kona for six months or longer. To qualify you must complete and return the Confidential Financial Information Form (with a bank statement showing you have enough funds to cover your study. Also required is a Report on Proficiency in English).
Child's application - A Foundation School application is necessary for each child age 4 -17. These forms are available online or from the Admissions Office.
