Featured July DTS:

Voice for the Voiceless DTS

Want to know God?

Want to have a relevant voice?

Go no further than "a voice for the voiceless DTS"!

This DTS combines a powerful discipleship environment with practical media training.  At the end of this DTS, you will know God deeper and be equipped to be able to speak clearly for the voiceless.

This is the heart of the voice for the voiceless DTS: "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy." (Proverbs 31:8-9).

Over the years we have spoken for many voiceless people

Our goal however is not just to be a voice but we want to also act in a way that changes people's lives.

At the end of this DTS you will be able to utilize media to tell stories through GrassRootsNews platform as well as be able to advocate for the poor, needy and oppressed.  You will have measurable skill level that would be able to set you up on a media education path or you could go on with continued mission service.

At the end of the DTS, you should expect to have a practical project identified that will be able to do something concrete for voiceless people.  You will be able to initiate a media campaign to provide homes for AID orphans, dig a well for people who have no water, provide sustenance for Christians persecuted for their faith among a myriad other possibilities.

The a voice of the voiceless DTS is just the start of what could be a longer term involvement.  If you successfully pass your DTS, these are some opportunities that you could take advantage of: The photogenX around the world degree program run by the University of the Nations. A track in theatrical film making with the possibility of internships in the film industry through the Film Institute.  Applying for staff with photogenX or GrassRootsNews under the umbrella of YWAM Kona.

The M1 Event stretched our Ohana Court beyond capacity with the seating area completely filled and the areas above and around the court stacked with 3 rows or more of onlookers.  The warm Kona night air was filled with the sounds of laughter, singers, violins, rappers, dancers' footsteps, drums, prayers and cheers... as well as the smells of flower leis, burning fire-knife fuel and wet paint. Our YWAM Kona ohana (family) felt our hearts filled with new passion, joy, wonder, determination and faith.

The Hawaiian word Lokahi means unity expressed in harmony - a fitting name for these incredible facilities that will house the numerous present and future arts & media ministries at YWAM Kona. Artists poured out their offerings of praise and shared words of faith as the vision of the new "LŌKAHI Studios" was revealed... see the  presentation video & artist interviews here:

LŌKAHI Studios' vision is to facilitate, empower and train a community of artists, technicians and storytellers for reformation in the spheres of influence.  read more about LŌKAHI Studios (pdf)

OUR GOAL: to raise one million dollars to fund the materials for studio A - the first phase of the 4.9 million dollar multi-purpose facility Lokahi Studios. Donated professional labor and materials have already brought the cost of this incredible facility down by $2.5 million.

At the March 1 event we were able to raise approximately $250,000.00.  Would you consider giving a gift for LŌKAHI Studios to help us reach the one million dollar goal?

Regardless of the amount of your gift we would like to say thank you by giving you access to:  ywamboutique.com to receive a gift from us.

You too can still participate by: donating online here  or donate by text here
