Engage with God, your identity, discipleship community & the nations

Engage DTS is for the hungry and passionate. It’s for those who want to have relationship with God in every area of life, to know and live in the truth of who they are created to be. It’s for those willing to let intentional community disciple them. Get launched into the wild adventure of life with Jesus, doing more than you imagined, in a country you might never have heard of.

Engage is unashamedly missions training. Engage is about Jesus & discipleship.

We are part of a generation that wants to make a difference, make our lives count for something and know that we have purpose. We are willing to lay aside traditional lifestyle, knowing it’s not actually about us, but about Jesus and his Kingdom. We want more than the traditional 9-5 life. We are a community of radicals whose heartbeat is to see lives and cultures changed, because WE have been changed — by the radical and tangible love of God.

Mighty men and women in generations before us have gone to the nations as wild ones — come and be part of the next wave of people who make Jesus known, no matter what is takes.

Spend six months emerged in a missions focused community that loves prayer, worship, the Bible, and telling people about Jesus, and adventure in the far flung place. This training program is designed to ground you in Biblical truth, see you walk in power of Holy Spirit, mobilized for the Great Commission and be equipped to blaze for Jesus in the most far-flung corners of the world.

The Engage family are people who passionately love Jesus without apology. We’ve chosen to do intentional, joyful life together, focusing on spiritual growth, with hearts hungering after transformation. We champion each other in breakthrough, and challenge each other to be who God created us to be, learning what it means to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds and strength.

DTS is not just about sitting in a classroom, but learning to study the Bible for yourself, having extended times of prayer worship, practicing sharing the gospel, loving our community, serving the campus and developing YOU as a world-changer.

DTS is a time to build deep foundations in our relationship with God, discover what we’re made to do and GO do it. We are privileged to have the possibility of input from wild men and women of the faith throughout our training, recent Engage speakers have been YWAM founders Loren and Darlene Cunningham, Todd White, Banning Liebscher, Francis Chan, Havilah Cunnington, Brian Brennt and Will Hart.

As DTS is a missions training program please note that outreach is NOT optional, and is a required part of DTS.

WHAT IS DTS

The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is YWAM’s six month entry level course, embodying YWAM’s mission to know God and make Him known. DTS provides an environment for students to personally encounter Jesus Christ, learn to hear God’s voice, and respond with joy!

OUTREACH

At the completion of the classroom phase, students have the opportunity to ‘make God known’ in the outreach phase. The Gospel comes alive as students step out in faith to preach the good news, baptize new believers and heal the sick (Mark 16:15-18). Outreach is an exhilarating time of risk and adventure, as teams serve with local believers: transforming lives and impacting society with the love of Jesus Christ.

Joanna Mutch

Joanna is a lively Brit who talks fast, drinks tea, loves community, and worships Jesus with abandonment. She has been in YWAM since 2005 and in Kona since 2007. She did her DTS in India and then worked there in primary health care and community development for a number of years before moving to Kona.

Jo has spent over 10 years involved in DTS, and pioneered the Engage DTS is 2012. She leads the Engage family, teaches and is especially focused on leadership development. She loves seeing people have revelation of who God is, who they are to Him and then heading out around the world to do what they were made for — transforming lives, communities and nations.

Ashley Weiers

Ashley loves seeing people receive revelation about who God is and who they are! She believes it’s incredible to see the transformation that takes place in people’s hearts that allows them to do things they never thought possible!

She is passionate about seeing young people know their true identity and use the unique gifts that God has given them for His glory!
